As a boy, he was abandoned by his family for having half burned body, Edmund took him in and gave Steven the power of death. But Steven took it too far, killed, burned, terrorized the powerless. Edmund banished him to the Nether, but for years Steven(Herobrine) built an army and built a portal back to Earth so he can destroy his father and brother and everyone else who seem weak to him.
